Daily Devotion:Matthew 26:41 – “watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
Today we go to a primary school in Mbekweni to teach life skills. The grades are 4-7th grade. The Dream Team prepares a skit about the girl who has a dream but nobody around her cares. The creativity of the dream team is wonderful, they have incorporated singing and acts that are simple and easy to understand for anyone at any age that may not even know English well.
David who someday dreams to become a pastor speaks to the kids. The kids main language is Xhosa. David speaks both Xhosa and English very well.
David’s main goal is to let the kids know that they can do anything and God will provide for them if they focus on their dream and not give up. We do the entire presentation a few times since in different classrooms. We get a break for lunch later and hang out and take pictures of the kids.
The kids love the attention. Lulu, Sivuylie and David speak Xhosa, so they start talking to the kids. During the class we hand out little square pieces of paper and ask the kids to write one dream they have, we tell them that we will take it and pray for them. We leave and feel great about our day today.
Although there wasn’t much interaction, we feel we made an impact on the kids and feel good.
