Last Night in Bangkok

I have one night in Bangkok before my flight back to the U.S. tomorrow. I’m tired, it is hot but I want to make the best use of my time so I call up Win my new friend who picked me up from the airport when I arrive to see if he wants to meet up at MBK. MBK Center is a super awesome mall that has about 7 floors and even a movie theater, there are tons of yummy restaurants in this mall as well. I only read about it but I figured it would be perfect for a one stop deal. It is also convenient because the subway takes you right to MBK. Very minimal walking and there is air conditioning inside. There is also a grocery market inside which made it convenient for me to purchase everything I needed before getting back on my subway to my room.

There are also tons of variety with food so it is great. They are open past 9PM.

Oh remember the crazy flooding going on here in Thailand that I have yet to see… Well on the way to my hotel the shuttle had to drive through it. It was pretty crazy but really that was the only flooding I had seen.

Win my new friend showed me the pandan custard spread which I guess is pretty popular. It was tasty but we had just eaten so it was difficult to enjoy the entire piece.

Everywhere we went, it seemed there were sauces/spices at the table. One that was interesting was sugar. There is sugar everywhere like Americans or westerners have salt.

At the MBK Plaza, instead of paying for food at the food court with cash or card, you have to go to the area where the give you coupons for your money. You then use the coupon to go buy your food. I believe they give you money back if you don’t spend all the coupons. IMG_2512
