Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana Variation (Head to Knee Pose)

Revolved Head to Knee Pose

This is a fun one with a good side stretch. There is a lot going on in the pose too.

  • Start with yourself seating in upavistha konasana
  • Start with one side, bend your left knee placing foot on ground (or SUP) and check that ankle is below knee.
  • Twist so that you right hand grabs the left ankle (or maybe the ground)
  • Reach that left arm up and over towards the right toes. Lengthening through the torso while reaching hips down towards ground
  • Turn your head upwards towards the sky.
  • Breathe
  • Switch

Side stretches are so awesome. They are ignored pretty often in practice and I’ve recently added them to almost every yoga class that I teach now.
