With less than a week till 2016 is over, what is left? Have you given your all? I can’t answer yes but I gave a lot. This year was a great year but it was transitional. I left my comfort zone more than I’d like to admit and looking back I can say that I am proud of my accomplishments this year.
When people asked what my plans for Christmas I was proud to say that I actually had no plans and was staying home to rest, relax and get some home chores done. When people heard this, they felt sad that I was spending Christmas at home alone and not with family over a large feast surrounded by gifts.
The thing is, I spend quite a bit of time with my family throughout the year. I see my family pretty regularly. I also get gifts from friends/family year-round as well so I guess I should consider myself pretty lucky.
At the end of last year I decided I would make a list of goals that I would like to accomplish by 2016. Specifically, I made a list of 33 goals for my 33 years of being alive. I got this from Richard Branson who does this and he’s many more years older.
Out of my 33 goals, I’ve accomplished less than 50% but I’ve done a lot more than I would have without listing the goals. I was able to accomplish some large goals of paying off some old debt that was caused when I was sick and unable to handle all my medical debt and some old taxes that I owed. Those were my biggest accomplishments because being debt free (which I am yet to be) gives me the freedom to reach for many things that I’d like to go for without being held back.
So as I was reflecting on how I wanted to spend my last week of 2016, I said yes to a last minute one nighter at the mountain with my friends for a quick boarding trip.
One of my goals that I didn’t think I’d even get to visit is learning to edit videos. I’m not a huge techy person. I have a GoPro and a PC. My friend who came up with me has a YouTube channel so I asked him some questions and he made it sound so easy I decided to give it a try. Here is the result:
