I was given an amazing opportunity to teach stand up paddleboard yoga in Tahoe, CA this year for Wanderlust Festival. My friend assisted me during the yoga/music festival. The festival was from July 20th through the 23rd. I only taught Thurs-Saturday. If you’ve never been to Wanderlust Festival, it is such a wonderful experience. They sell daily passes and multi day. I think as a festival goer, the most challenging thing is the lodging. The Festival is held at Squaw Valley which I think is in north Tahoe.
ROAD TRIP
My friend and I decided to road trip up! Instead of driving my own car, I decided to rent a car for the drive. Luckily, Enterprise gave me an upgrade and I was able to get this must more spacious vehicle. We set off on the 19th (Wednesday) to take the 8 hour road trip up to Tahoe. Unfortunately due to some fire, we had to take a longer route off the 395. The route was more scenic but lots of windy roads and less lanes for passing. Did I forget to mention… tons of semi trucks along the way. We set off in the morning and we arrived early evening.
After a long road trip, I needed to get up and move!
I swear this is a yoga/music festival but everyone likes to have fun. Our classes were a bit of a drive (or shuttle) away because we need water.

Took the gondola up and hiked down. It was a pretty simple hike. I’d say 3 miles-ish. One awesome thing about the hike is… there was still snow and some of it was melting and so we were able to see some waterfalls. They do have classes up at High Camp (by taking the gondola, or hiking) but I didn’t take any classes this time.
