After breakfast, we did yoga together! In the girls new home, we laid all the mats out practiced. We started out with handstands and it was awesome to see them laughing, giggling and being playful with each other.
Today, I am going to Chiang Mai to visit the Sunday Night Market. Night market is an opportunity for buyers to negotiate and a lot more is available for sale.
Esther is with Friends for Asia (another organization), they gave me a ride to Chiang Mai. I decided to stay at Korea House because not only is the location awesome but I wanted Korean food and the guesthouse was also a restaurant.
My room…
So greeeeen
quickly dropped some stuff off and went down to meet Esther to do some walking and shopping. Walking around town was fun at first but it got crowded. We snacked. Met up with two other girls from America who are also with Friends for Asia.
There were performers that were in the middle of the walkway. I was surprised at how much older they were. I did read some where that some people made more money by begging rather than working 12-16 hours a day. Some were blind, playing instruments. There was this one “band” where it was an older group of people, three men and one lady who was at least 70+ and she was beautiful! Even with her white hair in a bun. She sang as her band played instruments and she was lovely. We turned in early because we were both tired. We did get a 30 min foot massage. Which was so relieving after all the walking.
The next morning after skyping with Grace, Grace & Euka, I went downstairs to have breakfast. Yum to kimchi jjigae.
Then I checked out to walk around. I headed out to the bookstore, mall and cruise around. I was excited about the big bookstore because they have air conditioning. I couldn’t find the mall. I headed back to meet up with Laura to get on the song tao together and head back. I had an hour before our meeting so I decided to grab lunch.
Then met Laura, hopped on the song tao and headed back. I was tired and exhausted so I slept for a big after showering. Today was HOT! my clothes were drenched from walking around. For dinner the girls bbq’d! Yummmssss
Tonight the sky was gorgeous.
Sometimes, I forget where I am. I can’t believe I am sharing space with survivors of some horrible crimes. The girls are always smiling and playful, it’ hard to believe that anyone would want to steal their innocence.
This evening, the volunteers had dinner in Mickey’s house. Today is Mickey’s birthday. It also marks the two year anniversary of COSA! A celebration.
Happy birthday Mickey & COSA
